Passive Energy Harvester

Passive Energy Harvester for Recharging Personal Electronic Devices

Successfully designed and manufactured a backpack mounted device that captured human movement in order to recharge a smartphone.

Hypothetical Business Jet

Developed a design for a business jet aimed to compete with the Gulfstream G650.  Used Dr. Jan Roskam's Aircraft Design Books I through V.

ESW - Solar Cargo Ships

Co-leader of a team that won a $10,000 grant to research the feasibility of retrofitting Handymax class cargo ships with photo-voltaic technology.

Vertical Axis Wind Turbine - Manufacturing Automation

Designed and manufactured a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT), savonius type.  Used CAM software and a CNC Milling machine in the manufacture of final prototype.  Developed at University at Buffalo's graduate level class, MAE464 - Manufacturing Automation.

ESW - Pedal Power Bike

Member of the group who designed and manufactured a bike-system used to as an interactive model for the public to physically produce electricity.

ESW - Solar Smoothie Cart

Leader of a team that designed and machined a portable cart equipped with a solar panel and battery bank, used to power blenders to make smoothies.  Deployed as a successful fundraiser for my club, Engineers for a Sustainable World.

ESW - Battlebot Project

Team member of 3 different robots.  Team goal was to design a robot that fights other robots for UB engineering club annual bragging rights.  Sucessfully deployed three robots, learned importance of mechanical engineering design within fasteners.

ESW Vertical Farm - Ponics Project

Team member who assisted in the design and manufacture of a food growing prototype system.  Used aeroponics and hydroponics to successfully grow lettuce in our system.  Goal of the project is to learn how to effecicently grow food indoors using minimal energy.  Inspired by The Vertical Farm Project.

MAE 451 - Engineering Design

Designed a hypothetical personal rapid transit system for the Western New York Region.

ESW - Park Projects

Part of a team that designed and constructed a green space/park in downtown Buffalo, NY.  Volunteered our time and resources to install benches and landscape the area.
